After our Whale shark close encounter we decided to eat our late breakfast and while waiting to get our copy of our pictures. Locals there help us to get a boat that will bring us to Sumilon Island.

Boat rent: 2000php for 10pax not bad.

Sumilon originates from the Cebuano word nisilong, which means “to seek refuge.” In perilous weather, fishermen would dock on the island for temporary shelter. The island was also a refuge for Filipinos during the Japanese occupation.

Sumilon is a private resort but tourist can visit the other side of the island its open for the public. white sand and clear water is best place to swim and to have fun with your friends.

Travel time from Brgy. Tan-Awan to Sumilon Island by boat is approximately 15-20 minutes only.

So we Enjoy na lang playing and taking pictures but promise this place is awesome!

Bluewater Sumilon is a private resort so you can only enjoy the sandbar at back of the island open for the public but not bad you really enjoy the crystal clear water of this paradise.
